My First Fixer Upper!
Watch this quick 1 min video to see what our first home looked like "before" we bought it... and the "after". We bought this home a year after we got married. People thought we were crazy because the home was built in 1948 and hadn’t been updated much since then. But it was in the exact location we wanted to be so we decided to take the leap. Overall it took about 6 months to completely gut and remodel the home from under the ground up (we had to change all the plumbing and wiring too)
It was my first time playing general contractor. I pulled all the permits and managed the subs for the things we couldn't do ourselves. (plumbing/electrical) It goes to show that if you don't know how to do something but your "why" is strong enough you will figure it out!

Now that we just moved into our next home full of projects…
(I wouldn't have it any other way ;)
It was so fun to look back at my first reno... which made me fall in love with home design!

Of all the projects I have done since, this one will always hold a special place in my heart.
