Powder Bath || Reveal

Hi there!

Finally its done! This is the first MAJOR renovation I’ve tackled in our new house. After a ton of setbacks including framing repair, water damage, and product delays I never thought this room would get done but here we are! Overall I kept the layout the same, except I took out the built in cabinet on your right when you first walk in (see before pic). So with that came a some reframing, trim work and drywall. (which was actually my first time to drywall and probably my last :) I wanted the extra room and didn’t need the hidden storage so I just put an etagere in its place.

As soon as I found this antique chest on Facebook Marketplace I knew it had to be the vanity for the powder room. I instantly fell in love with the detailing on the wood and brass trim. I’m not going to lie though… it was a little nerve racking cutting into it because I didn't want to ruin it. After rebuilding the inside drawers, I topped it with a custom quartzite slab, put in a sink/faucet and VOILA a new (yet old) bathroom vanity was born.

It is the showstopper of this powder room and I’ve always believed that unless a vintage piece is “really valuable or has a true history” then repurposing it for something useful and enjoying it is ok!

And if your wondering what that purple liquid is in that glass decanter?!
Its mouthwash! Add some small disposable cups and its a fun little surprise for your guests who want a “refresh” after dinner.

Blue trim paint is “Rain”by Sherwin Williams.
